"The Timios Prodromos Monastery of Serres: A Byzantine Art Gem"
Constructed in 1270, the Monastery of Timios Prodromos is a stunning monument of Byzantine art and one of the most beautiful monasteries of Macedonia. Located at the heart of a deep, verdant gorge on Menikio Mountain, approximately 12 kilometers northeast of the city of Serres, the monastery’s main church is built of stone and adorned with numerous Byzantine frescoes.
The Monastery’s celebration takes place on August 29.
